Written in Naarm, “Closure” is a sprawling electronic journey of luscious textures and recorded soundscapes. Featuring the vocals of Eastern Arrernte knowledge custodian Helena Buzzacott, RONA. penned the track at a time of disconnection from Country, drawing on experiences of longing and yearning to craft a sonic story of what it feels to be connected to place and community. Released on RÜFÜS DU SOL’s record label, “Closure” was mixed by Konstantin Kersting (Genesis Owusu, Harvey Sutherland), with mastering from Leon Zervos (Robyn), and additional production from Sam Gill of Ara Koufax. Melodic lines from pan flutes, and pulsing hi-hats are drawn out in the mix as a buzzy undercurrent, while the track’s progressive and fluid, rhythmic nature becomes enthralling. As it whirs and laps in direction, RONA. makes an irresistible debut.

RONA. says of “Closure”: “‘Closure’ was written at a time when I began to reflect on how important it is to slow down, and be connected to place, to Country and community. The monologue from Helena speaks to looking after Country so it looks after us.”
